Meet The Team

Josephine Chu

Josephine Chu (she/her) supports outreach and logistics at the Aran Nebula Foundation.

She is currently a PhD candidate in Dr. Kiana Aran’s lab at Keck Graduate Institute using bio-integrated electronics to study enzyme dynamics.

Previously, she was awarded a fully funded masters through the Fisk-Vanderbilt BRIDGE to the PhD program, where her research focused on the biochemical interactions of cancer testis antigens. In Nashville, TN, she supported Vanderbilt’s Biomedical Innovation as a logistics volunteer at the Wond’ry, where she assisted in obtaining a $15M in grant funding to establish the I-corps Mid-South Hub.

As an undergraduate, she was a California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) Stem Cell Fellow performing translational research in Dr. Gene Yeo’s lab at UC San Diego, where she used induced pluripotent stem cells to create a disease model for autism spectrum disorder.

In the future, she plans to use her interests in technology transfer, business commercialization, and biomedical innovation to start her own company.
